Hi, I'm Ricky!

I am a PhD candidate, strength and conditioning coach, academic tutor and most importantly... a full-time FLOW junkie. My life is structured around chasing flow state experiences from surfing, snowboarding, skating, exercising, reading, writing and learning new skills. 

My vision for Flow Performance Training is to inspire positive change within the surfing community by providing surfers with access to reliable and high-quality health and training strategies.


Career highlights have included:

 Performance Analyst for Cricket Australia

Strength and Conditioning Coach for Snowboarding athletes in Finland

Academic Tutor in Human Movement at UQ.

Previous roles have also allowed me to work with a wide variety of athletes in a range of sports including; surfing, snowboarding, skiing, cricket, tennis, NRL, rugby league and rowing.

I am currently completing a PhD in surfing performance and the physical development of recreational surfers (Griffith University, Gold Coast).

Master's in Exercise Science Research

Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Honours)

ASCA Accredited S+C Coach 

AWF Accredited Weightlifting Coach

Research publications in multiple highly reputable, international, peer-reviewed journals 


My research has lead to presenting at and attending 6 x exercise science conferences including;

World Surfing Medicine Conference (2019) 

International ASCA Conference (2019)
